This adventure begins with an overnight bus trip to Puno to make the most of your days. We will sail through the famous Uros Floating Islands, built entirely of totora reeds, where we will learn about the unique lifestyle of its inhabitants.

The heart of this trip is the Experiential Tourism in Amantani. Here, you will be welcomed by local families, taste authentic Andean food, and hike to the mystical Inca temples of Pachamama and Pachatata to witness one of the most spectacular sunsets on the planet. The next day, we will explore the rich textile culture of Taquile Island, recognized by UNESCO, before embarking on our journey back to Cusco. A total immersion into the living culture of the Peruvian highlands.

Previous Night (Day 0)

Bus Trip Cusco – Puno

Pick up at your hotel in Cusco at 09:00 p.m. for the transfer to the terminal. The bus departs at 10:00 p.m. towards Puno city. You will travel overnight.

Day 1 (Morning)

Arrival in Puno & Uros Islands

Arrival in Puno between 05:30 – 06:00 a.m. Time for breakfast. Then we will embark to visit the Uros Floating Islands for approx. 30 minutes.

Day 1 (Afternoon/Evening)

Homestay in Amantani

2.5-hour navigation to Amantani. Andean lunch with local families. Hike to Pachamama and Pachatata temples for sunset. Dinner and overnight in a local homestay.

Day 2 (Morning)

Taquile Tour

Breakfast at 08:00 a.m. and boat trip to Taquile Island. Hike to the main square to admire its famous textiles and have lunch.

Day 2 (Afternoon/Evening)

Return to Puno & trip to Cusco

Return to Puno arriving at 04:00 p.m. Free time. At 10:00 p.m. you will board the bus back, arriving in Cusco the next day (05:30 a.m.) with a transfer to your hotel or airport.

They are basic but very clean and cozy rooms prepared by local families. Bathrooms are shared and usually do not have hot water showers due to the remote location.

Yes, being at over 3,800 meters of altitude, the wind from the lake is cold, and temperatures drop drastically at night. The families provide several thick blankets, but we recommend bringing thermal clothing.

Electricity in Amantani is generated by solar panels and is limited. There may not be plugs in the rooms. Mobile internet signal (data) is weak or non-existent in much of the island.

Yes, we work with formal and safe interprovincial tourist transport fleets, featuring reclining seats so you can rest during the overnight journey.
