We will start by exploring the living history of the city with a City Tour through its imposing ruins and the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha). The following day, we will venture into the VIP Sacred Valley, visiting the textile centers of Chinchero, the impressive salt mines of Maras, and the agricultural terraces of Moray.

The climax of your trip will be watching the sunrise at the Wonder of the World: Machu Picchu. The adventure then continues by challenging the altitudes at the majestic Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) at over 5,000 meters above sea level. Finally, we will close with a fascinating cultural journey through the South Valley, discovering Tipon, Pikillacta, and the «Sistine Chapel of America». We take care of all the logistics (hotels, trains, entrance fees, and transfers) so you only have to worry about enjoying yourself.

Cusco

The imperial city of Cusco is located in southeastern Peru, in the Andes Mountains. It sits at over 3,300 meters (10,800 feet) above sea level and was the former capital of the Inca Empire. Today, it is one of the most important tourist destinations in South America.

Full Itinerary (6 Days)

Day 1: Arrival & Cusco City Tour

Airport reception and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon (12:45 pm), we start the City Tour visiting Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca-Pucara, and Tambomachay. Free evening to dine at the main square. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 2: VIP Sacred Valley + Connection to Aguas Calientes

Pick up at 06:30 am. We visit the Chinchero textile center, Maras Salt Mines, and Moray agricultural lab. Enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba before exploring the Ollantaytambo fortress and boarding the train to Aguas Calientes. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 3: Splendor at Machu Picchu

Take an early bus up to witness the sunrise at the citadel. We’ll have a 2-hour guided tour of the main temples. After free time for photos, we descend to Aguas Calientes, take the train back to Ollantaytambo, and transfer to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 4: Trekking to Rainbow Mountain

Extreme adventure starting at 04:30 am. Breakfast in Cusipata and hike from Quesiuno surrounded by alpacas to reach the summit at 5,020m. After admiring this natural miracle, we have a restoring buffet lunch and return to Cusco around 5:00 pm. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 5: South Valley Route

Pick up at 08:30 am. We’ll discover the Inca hydraulic engineering of Tipon, the immense pre-Inca Wari city of Pikillacta, and the stunning colonial church of Andahuaylillas (the Sistine Chapel of America). Return to Cusco at 3:00 pm. Overnight in Cusco.

Day 6: Airport Transfer

After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport according to your flight schedule. If you have free time, we recommend exploring the San Pedro Market or the 12-Angled Stone on your own. End of our services.

The itinerary is designed for progressive acclimatization. You’ll rest on the first day, go down to the Sacred Valley (lower altitude) on the second. The most demanding tour (Rainbow Mountain) is on day 4 when your body is acclimatized. We recommend drinking coca tea upon arrival.

Railway policies only allow a small backpack or handbag (max 5 kg / 11 lbs). Your large suitcase will be safely stored at your hotel in Cusco.

The difficulty lies in the altitude (5,020m), not the terrain, which is mostly flat with a slight incline at the end. If you feel too exhausted, you can rent a horse from the locals (not included).

Yes, all selected accommodations (2 to 4-star categories depending on your choice) feature comfortable rooms, private bathrooms, hot water, and Wi-Fi.
