This 6-day itinerary in Cusco is exclusively designed to experience the most important cultural event in the Andes: the Inti Raymi festival. The journey begins by exploring the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting iconic sites like Chinchero, the agricultural laboratory of Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, and the historic citadels of Ollantaytambo and Pisac.

On June 24th, you will witness the Inti Raymi, a spectacular reenactment of the ancestral Inca ceremony in honor of the Sun God, taking place at Qorikancha, the Main Square, and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. The trip is completed with a guided tour of the majestic wonder of the world, Machu Picchu, and a high-mountain challenge summiting the spectacular Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), creating unforgettable memories in the heart of the Inca Empire.

Itinerary – Inti Raymi & Machu Picchu 6 Days

Day 1 – June 22nd
Arrival in Cusco & Acclimatization
Arrival at the Cusco airport and private transfer to your hotel. Free afternoon to rest, acclimatize to the altitude, or explore the historic center on your own (San Pedro Market, 12-Angled Stone).

Day 2 – June 23rd
Sacred Valley of the Incas
Pick-up at 06:30 a.m. We will visit Chinchero, Moray, and the Maras Salt Mines. Enjoy a buffet lunch in Urubamba, followed by a visit to the Ollantaytambo fortress and the Pisac market. Return to Cusco.

Day 3 – June 24th
Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun)
The main day. We start very early at Qorikancha, then head to the Main Square, and finally to the grandstands at Sacsayhuaman to witness the majestic Inti Raymi ceremony. Return to the hotel in Cusco.

Day 4 – June 25th
Machu Picchu Full Day
Transfer to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes. A 2-hour guided tour of the Machu Picchu citadel. In the afternoon, return train to Ollantaytambo and transfer back to Cusco.

Day 5 – June 26th
Rainbow Mountain
Pick-up at 04:30 a.m. Drive to Cusipata for breakfast. A 1.5-hour hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). Buffet lunch after descending, and return to Cusco (approx. 06:00 p.m.).

Day 6 – June 27th
Return Home
Breakfast at the hotel. At the appropriate time, transfer from your hotel to the Cusco airport for your return flight. End of services.
