Sobre el tour

Discover one of the most impressive and mystical Inca fortresses in southern Cusco.

Cusco, Acomayo, Apurimac Canyon, Waqrapukara Fortress

The Waqrapukara Full Day Tour is a perfect adventure for those looking to explore the lesser-known and most fascinating archaeological jewels in the Cusco region. This impressive Inca complex is strategically located high above the majestic Apurimac Canyon, at an altitude of 13,583 feet (4,140 m), surrounded by spectacular high Andean landscapes.

Its name in Quechua means «horned fortress», due to the unique rock formations that crown the mountain. During the Inca period, Waqrapukara functioned as an important ceremonial and astronomical center where stone architecture integrates in perfect harmony with nature. Unlike the traditional crowded routes, this trek offers you an authentic, crowd-free experience, ideal for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and adventure photographers.
