Itinerary – Ausangate 7 Lakes Full Day

04:30 a.m.

Hotel Pickup in Cusco

Very early we collect you from your hotel in Cusco to begin the journey south toward the Vilcanota mountain range.

04:30 – 07:30 a.m.

Journey to Tinke

Approximately 3-hour scenic drive through Andean landscapes, traditional villages and grazing highlands until reaching Tinke (3,780 m / 12,402 ft).

07:30 – 08:10 a.m.

Transfer to Pacchanta

From Tinke we continue 40 more minutes to the community of Pacchanta (4,310 m / 14,140 ft), the trek starting point.

08:10 – 08:40 a.m.

Andean Breakfast in Pacchanta

Enjoy a delicious local breakfast while taking in spectacular views of the majestic Ausangate glacier, one of the most sacred mountains in the Andes.

08:40 a.m. – 01:30 p.m.

Trek through the 7 Lakes of Ausangate

Approximately 6.5 km circuit hiking through the most spectacular lakes: Azulqocha, Otorongo, Alqacocha, Q’omercocha and Patacocha (4,740 m / 15,551 ft). Watch for alpacas, llamas, vizcachas, Andean birds and with luck the majestic Andean Condor.

Lunch in Pacchanta

After the circuit we return to Pacchanta for a traditional lunch prepared with local ingredients.

Pacchanta Hot Springs (optional)

Optional relaxation in the natural Pacchanta hot springs with views of snow-capped peaks. Small additional cost applies.

03:00 – 06:00 p.m.

Return to Cusco

We begin the return journey to the city of Cusco.
