Discover one of the most impressive and least explored Inca fortresses in southern Cusco.

Cusco, Waqrapukara

On the Tour Waqrapukara Full Day, you will discover one of the least known and most fascinating archaeological gems in the Cusco region. This impressive Inca complex is strategically perched above the majestic Apurimac Canyon at an altitude of 4,140 m.a.s.l. (13,582 ft), surrounded by spectacular Andean landscapes.

Its name in Quechua translates to the “Horned Fortress”, inspired by the towering rock formations that crown the mountain and give it a unique, easily recognizable silhouette. During the Inca Empire, Waqrapukara served as an important ceremonial center where masterful architecture integrated seamlessly with the natural environment.

Unlike more crowded traditional destinations, this site offers a truly authentic and peaceful experience. It is the ideal trek for travelers seeking adventure, ancient history, and breathtaking panoramic views while exploring one of the most mystical places in the Peruvian Andes.
